Stephen (known as “Stephen J.”): Started “The Slouch In The Couch Children’s Corner Band” in 1994, to compliment the series of children’s books he was writing, entitled, “The Slouch In The Couch.” As lead singer for the band, Stephen has written all of the music up to this point and is a member of BMI, the Writers Guild and has a music publishing company associated with the Harry Fox Agency. He has an A.S. degree in Administration of Justice and is included in the Marquis publication of “Who’s Who.” He is an Orange County resident that enjoys music, fishing and collecting 16mm movies.
Ace
Apepe :
The latest addition to the Slouch family, enjoys playing
guitar and studying hard to finish school. Ace will become a Police Officer
in the near future, but for now we are happy to have this very talented and
personable addition. More to come shortly, pictures to be added shortly.
Jason
Basoco: A man of many musical talents, Jason provides
the drum beat to the bands unique sound. He also plays trumpet, accordian
and piano just to name a few other instrument interests. Jason has played
for many different types of bands including Rock and Jazz. One of his many
accomplishments was touring Europe and Hawaii with a Jazz band. He also went
around the United States with the “I.E. Orchestra,” which was a
swing band. His current schedule includes private teaching lessons for drums,
trumpet and piano. Jason’s hobbies include practicing his various instruments,
drawing and walking his dog.
Jeff
Schmidt: Jeff is the bands bass player, who was born and raised in Kewaskum,
WI. His interest in music began when his sister started taking piano lessons.
Jeff would try to copy what she learned after each lesson she took. He’s
been a musician in school choirs, various bands and was even in the Air Force
Drum and Bugle Corps. Jeff ultimately moved to California where he met Mark
Bratton. Mark introduced Jeff to “Stephen J.” and the rest became
history. Jeff is a Riverside County resident who enjoys sports and playing
bass in a local Christian Band.
Chip
Tyler: Chip is the saxophone player in the band. He started
playing in grade school and as he got older, played at his father’s church,
back in Indiana. Chip currently not only plays in “The Slouch In The Couch
Children’s Corner Band”, but also plays in his local church band.
He is married with three daughters. He enjoys sports and spending time with
his family in his spare time.
Lydia
Basoco: Besides playing the keyboards is married to her "Soul Mate"
'Curtis and enjoy their baby boy! A devotion to family, recreational activities,
computers, medicine, church, movies and animals are Lydia's interests, and
Oh Yes shopping!
